Our mission at Don’t Hide It Flaunt It is to encourage tolerance and acceptance through a SEL program for organizations. Here DHIFI, we envision a world where the individuality of each young person is not just recognized but something that is celebrated actively. Giving adolescents and children the confidence they need to accept their unique characteristics and hold their heads high is our mission at DHIFI. Helping young people grow into individuals who are compassionate and confident is the focus of the work we do. We develop initiatives for an array of institutions, such as schools, centers for higher learning, local communities and businesses.

Social Emotional Learning Programs

Promoting social emotional learning activities for organizations lies at the heart of DHIFI’s mission. This includes instructing younger individuals on goal-setting, emotional intelligence, relationship-building, empathy, and wise decision-making. We amplify the impact of SEL at DHIFI by encouraging learners to be proud of the things that make them unique, supported by offerings for education that emphasize expanding the reach of SEL, inspiring students to take pride in their individuality, supported by endeavors that include:

  • Story sharing: By sharing the experiences they’ve had with others, students gain confidence and address the barriers that often produce bullying.
  • Highlighting individuality: Our teachings confirm that unique features are beneficial resources, not faults.

Championing self-acceptance and the acceptance of others, encouraging respect for various backgrounds, and ensuring a sense of belonging for everyone, no matter their uniqueness, are key parts of our mission.

Empathy Building Activities For Middle School

At Don’t Hide It Flaunt It, we have additionally created the Project Flaunt Hub, an interactive online platform for self acceptance activity ideas elementary school . By promoting self-acceptance, celebrating differences, and fostering an inclusive school environment, we strive to empower students. Building empathy and confidence among peers is the goal of this initiative, which is capable of being achieved by encouraging students to flaunt their unique experiences and qualities. Disability Awareness Training

This program is designed to help kids and teens build self-confidence, empathy and healthy relationship skills.

We work with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based organizations, and other non-profits.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
