Learn About The Power of Belonging Programs for Schools

Our mission at Don’t Hide It Flaunt It is to encourage tolerance and acceptance through disability acceptance programs for educators. DHIFI’s vision is a society that does not merely acknowledge but celebrates each child’s individuality actively. Giving adolescents and children the confidence they need to accept their unique characteristics and hold their heads high is our mission at DHIFI. The work we do helps young people grow into individuals who are confident and compassionate. We develop initiatives for a variety of institutions, including schools, centers for higher education, local businesses and communities.

An Inclusion Program Curriculum

Advancing a SEL curriculum for educators is the cornerstone of DHIFI’s mission. Our aim is to teach young minds how to process their emotions, set positive goals, express empathy, forge meaningful relationships, and make responsible decisions. We magnify the impact of SEL at DHIFI by encouraging learners to celebrate the things that make them unique, sustained by offerings for education that emphasize broadening the reach of SEL, inspiring students to take pride in their uniqueness, which is reinforced by endeavors that include:

  • Narrative exchange: Students boost their self-confidence and break down social barriers that commonly cause bullying, by sharing their own life stories.
  • Showcasing uniqueness: Our teachings reinforce that one of a kind characteristics are valuable resources, not disadvantages.

We champion the acceptance of oneself and others and promote respect for individuals from all walks of life, guaranteeing everyone knows they have a place, no matter their differences.

Acceptance Activities For The Classroom

An online interactive platform for welcome activities for students , Project Flaunt is also an initiative of Don’t Hide It Flaunt It. By promoting self-acceptance, celebrating differences, and fostering an inclusive school environment, we aim to ensure students feel empowered. We believe that when students are encouraged to flaunt their unique experiences and qualities, the result is increased empathy and confidence among peers. This is what this initiative is all about. Emphasizing social-emotional learning (SEL) and inclusion, the various resources and activities offered in this curriculum are designed to be integrated into school curricula. To create a understanding and supportive community where each student feels accepted and valued, schools should consider implementing these activities. Visit Project Flaunt today if you’re interested in social emotional activities for kids and want to learn more.

Belonging Program For Middle Schools

There are many reasons when it comes to a SEL curriculum for military families, DHIFI stands out. Inclusion programs are a vital part of our work at DHIFI, focusing on initiatives that foster inclusion.:

  • Promoting kindness: Mutual comprehension helps make the environment unsuitable for bullying.
  • Developing empathy: Guiding students to understand various perspectives decreases the incidence of exclusion.

Bullying Awareness Training For Organizations

DHIFI, created by Meg Zucker, is more than a nonprofit; it’s the embodiment of a personal journey toward self-acceptance. Meg and her husband, both with a rare genetic condition affecting their limbs, have three children, two of whom inherited the condition, forging a family deeply aware of the importance of accepting visible differences. From its inception, DHIFI has flourished into a vibrant community, inspiring schools, families, and individuals to celebrate their differences only, turning things that were perceived as obstacles into springboards for empowerment and growth. Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It founder Meg Zucker also offers speaking engagements to further our mission. Get in touch with us today to discover more.

Inclusivity School Assemblies

Our school assemblies at Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It turn social emotional learning programs into meaningful experiences that encourage emotional intelligence, understanding, and awareness of self and others. No matter the focus – bullying prevention, disability support, or inclusion – our assemblies help students understanding themselves and their peers with greater clarity. We use meaningful narratives, participatory discussions, and guided reflection to guide young people to embrace their individuality and honor what makes each person special. Beyond building awareness, these assemblies are designed to spark students to get involved and transform their environment for the greater good. Testimonials

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.

When the U.S. Embassy in Israel hosted Meg Zucker as a Distinguished American Speaker in 2015, the audiences she spoke and met with were deeply inspired by her personal story, her effective advocacy, and the early success of Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It.  Her appearance made a huge impact with advocates for inclusion and acceptance which still resonates today with those who met her.

Daniel Shapiro

former U.S. Ambassador to Israel

Meg is an energetic and engaging speaker who inspires all who meet her with her life story of growing up with a blatant physical difference and parenting kids who share her difference.   Her message of “the things that make me different make me, me” is heartfelt and impactful and resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.  Meg’s mission of building acceptance, tolerance, and empathy is more important now than ever before.  Everyone who has the pleasure of hearing Meg’s story and her vision will be better for it.
