Encouraging acceptance and tolerance with a social emotional learning curriculum for educators is what we’re all about at Don’t Hide It Flaunt It. Each child’s uniqueness is something that should be celebrated, and this is something we believe in strongly at DHIFI. Giving children and adolescents the confidence they need to embrace their individuality and hold their heads high is our mission at DHIFI. Helping young people grow into individuals who are confident and compassionate is the focus of the work we do. Our offerings include a inclusion of programs for schools, universities, corporate settings and communities to this end.

A Inclusion Curriculum

At the core of DHIFI is the dedication we have to a SEL program for universities. We focus on enhancing the youth’s capacity for emotional understanding, establishing positive goals, cultivating empathic interactions, building relationships, and making informed choices. We magnify SEL’s impact at DHIFI by urging learners to be proud of their individualism, sustained by educational offerings that emphasize increasing the reach of SEL, inspiring students to take pride in their individuality, which is reinforced by initiatives that include:

  • Narrative exchange: Students bolster their self-confidence and break down social barriers that commonly lead to bullying, by sharing the stories of their own lives.
  • Highlighting individuality: Our teachings confirm that distinctive features are valuable resources, not disadvantages.

As part of our mission, we advocate for self-acceptance and the acceptance of others, foster respect for people from various backgrounds, and make certain everybody feels they belong, no matter their differences.

Disability Education Initiatives For Companies

DHIFI, created by Meg Zucker, is more than a nonprofit; it’s the embodiment of a personal journey toward self-acceptance. Tapping into the collective experiences of their family with obvious differences, Meg and her husband-who share a rare genetic condition-have inspired DHIFI to grow into a community where celebrating differences is completely normal. DHIFI started as the seed of an idea and has since blossomed into a vibrant community, where families and educational institutions are given the encouragement they need to flaunt the things that make them different, transforming potential barriers into opportunities for empowerment. DHIFI founder Meg Zucker additionally offers speaking engagements to further our mission. Discover more by getting in touch with us today.

Testimonials

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.

Meg is an energetic and engaging speaker who inspires all who meet her with her life story of growing up with a blatant physical difference and parenting kids who share her difference.   Her message of “the things that make me different make me, me” is heartfelt and impactful and resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.  Meg’s mission of building acceptance, tolerance, and empathy is more important now than ever before.  Everyone who has the pleasure of hearing Meg’s story and her vision will be better for it.
