An Inclusion Curriculum

Central to DHIFI’s mission is the promotion of inclusivity workshops for students. This includes instructing younger individuals on goal-setting, emotional intelligence, empathy, relationship-building, and wise decision-making. At DHIFI, we broaden SEL’s scope by inspiring students to embrace their special characteristics with programs that highlight individualism.

  • Sharing narratives: Encouraging students to tell their stories strengthens their self-esteem and breaks down the societal constructs that frequently result in bullying.
  • Accentuating individuality: We enlighten students that their different traits are merits rather than inadequacies.

Empathy-Based Activities For Elementary School

To promote empathy-based activities students , Don’t Hide It Flaunt It has additionally created Project Flaunt, an interactive online platform. Project Flaunt strives to empower students through the celebration of the things that make us unique, promoting self-acceptance, and ensuring school environments are more inclusive. During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
