Learn About The Benefits of a Inclusion Program for Organizations

Encouraging acceptance and tolerance with a SEL curriculum for educators is our mission at Don’t Hide It Flaunt It. Here DHIFI, we want to bring about a world where the uniqueness of every child is not just recognized but also celebrated. Our mission is to give children and adolescents the confidence they need to embrace their individuality and hold their heads high. Helping young people develop into individuals who are compassionate and confident is the focus of the work we do. We work on developing initiatives for an array of institutions, including schools, centers for higher education, local communities and businesses.

Inclusion Programs

At the heart of DHIFI is our commitment to an inclusion program for educators. Our aim is to teach young minds the ways to process their emotions, come up with constructive goals, express empathy, make better decisions and cultivate meaningful relationships. We magnify the impact of SEL at DHIFI by urging learners to be proud of the things that make them unique, supported by educational offerings that emphasize expanding SEL’s reach, inspiring students to feel pride when it comes to their individuality, which is reinforced by initiatives that include:

  • Sharing narratives: Motivating students to share their stories builds their self-esteem and breaks down the societal constructs that frequently result in bullying.
  • Showcasing uniqueness: Our teachings confirm that distinctive characteristics are beneficial assets, not faults.

Included in our mission, we advocate for self-acceptance and the acceptance of others, nurture respect for people from various backgrounds, and ensure everyone feels they belong, no matter their differences.

Acceptance Activities For The Classroom

At Don’t Hide It Flaunt It, we’ve also created the Project Flaunt Hub, an interactive online platform for classroom activity ideas . We believe students can be empowered and learn self acceptance by fostering more inclusive environments and celebrating the things that make us unique. We believe that when students flaunt their unique experiences and qualities, the result is increased confidence and empathy among peers. This is what this initiative is all about. Various resources and activities designed to integrate into school curricula, emphasizing social-emotional learning (SEL) and inclusion are offered by this program. For schools looking to ensure each student feels valued and accepted, a nurturing and understanding community can be created with the implementation of these activities. Bullying Awareness Initiatives

Considering DHIFI for disability acceptance workshops for organizations? Our organization, established by Meg Zucker, was created from an individual journey and is dedicated to promoting acceptance of one’s self. Harnessing the collective experiences of their family with obvious differences, Meg and her husband-who share a rare genetic condition-have inspired DHIFI to become a community where celebrating differences is completely normal. DHIFI started as an idea’s seed and in the time that has followed has grown into a thriving community, where educational institutions and families are encouraged to flaunt their differences, transforming potential barriers into empowering opportunities. DHIFI founder Meg Zucker additionally offers speaking engagements to further our mission. Discover more by getting in touch with us today.

Testimonials

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.

When the U.S. Embassy in Israel hosted Meg Zucker as a Distinguished American Speaker in 2015, the audiences she spoke and met with were deeply inspired by her personal story, her effective advocacy, and the early success of Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It.  Her appearance made a huge impact with advocates for inclusion and acceptance which still resonates today with those who met her.

Daniel Shapiro

former U.S. Ambassador to Israel

Meg is an energetic and engaging speaker who inspires all who meet her with her life story of growing up with a blatant physical difference and parenting kids who share her difference.   Her message of “the things that make me different make me, me” is heartfelt and impactful and resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.  Meg’s mission of building acceptance, tolerance, and empathy is more important now than ever before.  Everyone who has the pleasure of hearing Meg’s story and her vision will be better for it.
