SCHOLASTIC ART & WRITING FLAUNT IT AWARD FINALIST
When living in a town surrounded by people who do not share your cultures and practices, it is easy to feel as though your background is being erased. It takes the extra step to recognize that it must be you that allows your heritage to live on. In order to keep your family, your blood, and the culture they gave you present in your life, you have to keep it with you wherever you go. It is easy to loose sight of where you came from when you are living in a place so far away from it. However that connection can still be established: that is now your story, my story. And that story deserves to be shared and carried on wherever I may go.
